J-OFURO3 V1.2 release
The dataset of J-OFURO3 has been minor updated to V1.2. This new version (V1.2) builds upon V1.1, released in 2021, with improvements in estimation methods, updates to source datasets, and an extension of the data coverage period. We hope V1.2 will be useful for your research.
Major changes
- Coverage extended: 1988–2017 (30 years) → 1988–2022 (35 years)
- Updated ensemble median SST members
- Fixed an issue in the processing of surface air humidity over sea ice areas
- Improved long-term consistency of surface air humidity through inter-sensor comparison and calibration
- Recalculated turbulent heat fluxes reflecting the above changes
- Updated radiative fluxes to the latest dataset version
- Recalculated net heat fluxes reflecting the above changes
- Recalculated climatological values based on the extended 35-year dataset
- Enhanced metadata
